I Don't Feel Like Celebrating

The Fourth of July used to be my favorite holiday. When I was a kid, it was an all day GI Joe battle against Cobra until my father torched the hamburgers and my mother had to scramble to find a pizza place that was still delivering. We shot off fire works and we were the nuclear family the left despises so much. As I got older and became more interested in history, The Fourth had more meaning to me. That spirit the Founders had was magical.

These days it's gone.

What is there to celebrate ? What are we even independant from ? The federal government has its fat, greedy snout in everything, from lighting a cigarette to which light bulbs to use. Soon, if Obama and his socialist hacks have their way, some government bureaucrat will be sitting in a cubicle deciding whether I live or die. Is that freedom we should be celebrating ?

The joy and happiness that was once The Fourth of July has turned into anger and I'll be at a tea party protesting. It's my duty to speak out, and I must, as a citizen, do what's right instead of enjoying the holiday.

Thank you very much, Mr. Obama, for ruining yet another part of America.

A Fun Soviet Healthcare Fact

King Obama likes to wax ever so eloquently about democracy, but it's pretty clear he has absolutely (You have no idea how hard I try not to use that word and turn my little blog into a pun.) no idea what it is.

According to some sources, the United States has a population of 309 million. Now, according to the Socialist Democrats, there 47 million Americans without health insurance. (I'll even let the illegal immigrants stay in the 47 million.) That would mean 262 million Americans ARE insured. That would mean only 15% of the population has no health insurance.

If we are a democracy, why are the needs of 15% of the population trumping the 85% majority ? After all everyone will have to pay for this, right ?

Enquiring minds want to know, Mr. Obama.

He's Kidding, Right ?

Well, the Obama Doctrine of supporting dictatorships is in full force, yet again. We now stand with pieces of human garbage like Daniel Ortega, Hugo Chavez, and the Castro brothers in condemning the removal of the Honduran leftist dictator, Manuel Zelaya, who decided to ignore his country's constitution and supreme court. In other words, he started to act like an American liberal, so the Honduran military removed him from office.

I am utterly disgusted by Obama's attitude by this. He actually said America will "stand on the side of democracy".  Right. Just like Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, those other bastions of justice. I'm really becoming concerned by this. Why is it every time a dictator gets himself in trouble does Obama come running to his aid ? (Or do nothing, looking as weak as possible in the Iran Golden Opportunity.)

Yup. Socialists of a feather oppress together.

A Most Regressive Tax....

Hmmm....By no means am I an economist (Then again, neither is anyone in Washington DC.), but isn't Cap and Trade ( I like to call it Crap and Traitor) a REGRESSIVE tax that will hurt all of Comrade Obama's skid row constituents ? Why isn't this garbage going to harm the teenage mothers Obama waxes so eloquently about ? Isn't raising the energy costs going to hurt the little old ladies ? The middle class he claims to love so much ?

Just food for thought. The thought of losing my liberty is keeping me awake.

A Memo To All Elected Republicans

Gentlemen:

Please refrain from scandalous sexual activity until after the 2010 elections. Limit all sexual activity to your spouses. As you know, we have quite a mountain to climb to restore America to her previous glory and do not need any more Sanford or Ensign-like stupidity. Kindly keep it in your pants. Thank you.

Shame On Fox News

Thursday was a sad day. It wasn't that Michael Jackson had retired to the grave (I'm no fan of pedophiles. Boo and hiss all you want.), it was FOX News ignoring a story with far more consequences. Crap and Trade had some how made it through the Shack of Representives and all FOX was talking about was how distraught Elizabeth Taylor was. Are you kidding me ?

Yeah, I know it was the story of the year, but what real consequences does it have on our lives ? Crap and Trade could put me out of a job, Micheal Jackson heading to oblivion will neither make or break me. Crap and Trade could make it difficult for me to feed my family. The only thing Jacko's coverage will do is make it difficult to keep down a meal.

"Fair and Balanced" means all of the news, not just the ratings worthy news.

The Ethical Questions of Soviet Healthcare

I'm going to stun some of you fiscal conservatives out there. The trillion dollar price tag of Soviet Health Care is not the most important issue. It's the ethical questions that have not been asked that are even more important.

1) Will the federal government now have the power to terminate pregnancies that are deemed too expensive ? Will fetuses with conditions like Tay-Sachs or Sickle Cell be marked for termination ? (The Nazis had a term for this. It was called "Life unworthy of life".)

2) Will the federal government regulate high risk pregnancies and force abortions (by not paying for them) by mothers with conditions like preeclampsia or severe gestational diabetes ?

3) Will the federal government decide what diseases are self inflicted and not worthy of top notch care ? (Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, lung cancer, alcoholic hepatitis, etc.)

4) Will the federal government choose, in order to save money, not to give top notch care to those injured doing dangerous things ?
(Riding a motorcycle, contact sports, etc.)

5) What will prevent the government from misusing the data it collects from running health care ? (Information such as: Who has what in their genetics ?)

I'm sure there are a million more questions that should be asked. "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" is way more important than artificial "fairness".

Here's Your Pill, Mrs Clinton

"Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the pain killer."-- Barack Obama

Well, hearing that from our Premier sent chills up my spine. After all, under Soviet Health care, that's all we're going to hear. Unless, of course, you're a government employee.

If you'll recall, our Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton fell and broke her elbow. She had surgery shortly after and is now recovering. That's great. That shows the system works and how it should work. She had a medical problem and it was fixed immediately. That's how it should be, and is for everyone. Even if Hillary had no insurance, she would be treated immediately in any emergency room. She wasn't told "Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the pain killer".

Now it's safe to assume the same would have occurred once Obama finally destroys free market health care. Hillary's elbow would be fixed. Arlen Spector's cancer would be treated, as well as Ted Kennedy's, and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's. The rest of us will be told about the wonders of painkillers, since according to some reports have come out Congress had the nerve to exclude themselves from this madness.

It's funny how the liberals want to create a classless utopia and yet are creating another class conflict.

The Liberals And Their Hate Mongering

After the Tiller murder and Von Dumb shooting up the Holocaust Museum, we've heard a bunch of whining by the leftists about "right wing extermism" and "hate speech". They were ready to give Janet Napolitano the Congressional Medal of Honor for her "report" on "right wing extremism". (On a side note: None of us on the right have time to be extremists. We are the only ones who still have jobs in America. You won't see any self respecting member of the right sitting around sipping lattes at Starbucks and bemoaning the unfairness of capitalism.)

What about the left and their hatemongering ? Is Homeland Security watching these clowns and listening to THEIR rhetoric ?

Here's some of the left's contributions to racial harmony in our country:

"Them Jews aren't going to let me let him (Obama) talk to me."--Jeremiah Wright ( I could go on and on with "Pastor" Wright, but it's way too easy. Kind of like shooting fish in a barrel.)

"...But, she's a typical white person who-if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know-there's a reaction that's been bred into our experiences that don't go away, and sometimes, come out in the wrong way, and that's just the nature of race in our society."--Our Lord and Savior, Barack Obama, trashing his own grandmother to flaunt his racial "understanding". (To be fair, I won't even touch the Special Olympics joke on Leno.)

Here's a few from way back that went unreported by the socialist-run media but not forgotten by Mona Charen's book DoGooders in 2004 published by Sentinel.

"a clinical study of a man who has been driven barking mad by the beneficial treatment he has recieved. It's poignant really. It drives him crazy that people think he is where he is because of his race, but he is where he is because of his race."-- Maureen Dowd, columnist for the New York Slimes on Clarence Thomas.( You know, if Rush Limbaugh ever said this about Sonia Sotomayor, he'd be repacing the Uighurs at Gitmo. Don't worry. I won't go into a Sotomayor rant. We all know she's a racist. Nothing new to report there.)

"Diamond merchants"-- Al Sharpton's pet name for Jews in 1991.

"If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house."--Al Sharpton, once again. (I honestly doubt he's inviting anyone over for bagels and lox on Sunday. But I, and the rest of my Jewish brothers and sisters, were all quite impressed that Al at least had the decency to use the word yarmulke and not call a beloved part of our religion a beanie.)

We could go on and on about Jesse Jackson and "Hymie Town" or Robert Byrd's KKK membership, but why beat a dead horse and get PETA all mad at us ?

Reparations ? Yeah, Great Call.

Our illustrious Senate, with absolutely nothing better to worry about, has passed a resolution apologizing officially for slavery.

Don't get me wrong, slavery was horrible and nothing to be proud of. But is this really the right time for this ? Last time I checked, these clowns have plenty to do to other than attempt to right a wrong that can never be set right by a trillion resolutions. (On a side note, isn't it funny how the word trillion has entered every day use ?)

We've all seen the Senate do many stupid things, but this takes the cake. Believe it or not, the stupidity does not stop here. The resolution "apologizes to African Americans ON BEHALF of the people of the United States for the wrongs committed against them and their ancestors who suffered under slavery and Jim Crow laws."

Really ?

I can honestly say that my family had nothing to do slavery. The Italians in my family were poor dirt farmers in Sicily, hence they hopped on the boat to America. The Jews in my family were running for their lives all over Europe. Neither side of my heritage came to the US until the 20th century. and are therefore blameless. Many other Americans can tell the same story about their heritage. We don't need anyone to apologize on our behalf for something we didn't do, or for that matter, our ancestors didn't do.

The color of my skin doesn't make me guilty, does it ?

There is a disclaimer in the resolution that states there is nothing in the resolution that supports reparations and the Congressional Black Caucus did their usual howl of outrage. Caucus Chair Barbara Lee (D-CA) is having her organization study the resolution's language. (Instead of the CBO's debt projections or actually sitting down to read the Stimulus or Omnibus bills which is crippling the economy for folks of all races.) Not to be outdone, Roland Burris (D-Ill) railed "I want to go on record making sure that that disclaimer would in no way would eliminate future actions that may be brought before this body that may deal with reparations." (Why is this jerk still in the Senate ?)

2010 can't possibly get here fast enough, can it ?

Aye, Aye Babs!

"Could you say senator instead of ma'am ? It's just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title. I'd appreciate it." Barbara Boxer (D-CA), belittling Brigadier General Walsh of The US Army

Well, I hope there's enough room in Washington for Ol' Babs' and Obama's ego.

Let me ask you this, "ma'am": What have you done to be proud of ? Our country is turning into an industrialized Third World nation under this Senate's watch. Should we be proud of the "stimulus" bill that has utterly failed ? Normally, I'd blame the 1.8 million jobs lost on Obama, but realistically, Babs, it's on the Senate and House, too. Should we be proud of the 9000 earmark Omnibus bill ? I guess we should all be proud of the wonderful job you and the Senate did on AIG. I know, we should be proud of how the Senate sat there impotently as Obama took over GM and Chrysler. Take a bow, Babs. You're on a roll.

The Non-Meddling Messiah

"It's not productive, given the history of the US-Iranian relationship, to be seen as meddling." --Barack Obama doing his best Jimmy Carter imitation

Let the stupidity continue!

With Iran now caving from within, our wise Savior has decided to be as wishy washy as possible and not lend a hand to the dissidents who are screaming for freedom in the Islamofascist dictatorship. This may be more dangerous than his Cairo Surrender speech.

The United States now has a golden opportunity to neutralize Iran without firing a shot. Obama has a chance to help install a pro Western regime making the Middle East safer for Israel. This would end all of Iran's proxy wars and help turn them away from nuclear weapons. This could prevent a potential war between Israel and Iran that could be extremely destructive.

But let's face it:  The Arab world's view of Obama is more important to him than actually solving a huge problem. If you don't believe me check out Hugo Obama's Cairo speech.

In dangerous times like these I'm starting to wonder where Obama's "steel spine" that Joe Biden was boasting about. He sure hasn't shown it yet.

Czar You Kidding Me ?

Every day, a little more of our liberty dies.

That's because we have an unelected Obama lackey being named a czar (Named after those warm and fuzzy Russian tyrants who slaughtered thousands upon thousands of peasants whenever they felt like it.) every day. Every aspect of American life is being effected by the new (Did I mention unelected ?) "fourth branch" of the Federal Government.

The danger is these people make rules that we'll all be forced to live by and yet have no accountability for their actions. This group of fascisti will decide who gets paid what (the pay czar), who lives and dies (the health czar), what we drive (the car czar), and God knows what else there will be a czar for. The last time I checked, an Austrian with a little moustache operated like this. (Guess what ? They were not elected by anyone!)

It's funny, there are 27 czars in Obama's administration, with power over everything from AIDS to the Great Lakes. Yet, there's no czar for "satisfaction with government" or "government efficiency". Those would be czars I could get behind.

It was fun while it lasted, America.

Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit Of Happiness

There is no other phrase that sums up what is unique about America. Unfortunately, Barack Obama and his health plan are going to make this term moot.

"Life" will be violated when patients will be told they can't have life saving procedures done or life saving drugs by some government health monitor. (Or shall I say unelected czar ?) With socialist health care, the governement will be the sole decision maker in who lives and who dies. "Liberty" will be violated when the choice of doctors will be taken out of the patient's hands and put into the hands of yet another unelected czar or government lackey. "The pursuit of happiness" will be destroyed when one will not be able to pursue their dreams because of illness that could have been treated earlier.

The rights to Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness come from our Creator, just as the Declaration says. The last time I checked, our Creator is way more important than the Federal Government. Why, our Creator is even more important than Barack Obama whether he believes it or not.

When All Else Fails, Spit On A Grave Or Two

"Unlike Afghanistan, Iraq was a war of choice" Obama, at the Cairo Surrender

You're right, Presidente. It was a war of choice. We can let Saddam Hussein ignore the treaty that ended the Gulf War and ignore international law and have chaos (Quite like the chaos you're allowing with North Korea and Somalia.) Or we can demand that treaties are lived up to. The choice of death and destruction falls on Saddam Hussein, not America. Hussein made a choice that was fortunately fatal for him.

When you call Iraq a war of choice,  Mr. Obama, you are spitting on the graves of the over 4000 troops who gave their lives in Iraq. You diminish the sacrifices these men and women made for YOU. The brave men and women in Iraq weren't there because of some whim by Bush and Cheney. They were there proving international law, when just, must be obeyed by agressive nations like Iraq was.

I thought the taught international law at Harvard. How stupid of me.
